Sticky Honey Garlic Beef 😋

Ingredients:

  • 500g beef (sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced)
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oil (for frying)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1-inch ginger (grated)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for extra umami)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef

    • Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
    • Toss with cornstarch and 2 tbsp soy sauce. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Fry the Beef

    • Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
    • Fry the beef in batches until crispy and browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce

    • In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds.
    • Stir in honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, black pepper, and chili flakes. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Coat the Beef

    • Return the crispy beef to the pan and toss in the sauce until fully coated and sticky.
  5. Serve & Enjoy

    • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
    • Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
