Ingredients:
- 500g beef (sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced)
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oil (for frying)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1-inch ginger (grated)
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for extra umami)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 green onions (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
- Toss with cornstarch and 2 tbsp soy sauce. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Fry the Beef
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the beef in batches until crispy and browned. Remove and set aside.
Make the Sauce
- In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, black pepper, and chili flakes. Simmer for 2 minutes.
Coat the Beef
- Return the crispy beef to the pan and toss in the sauce until fully coated and sticky.
Serve & Enjoy
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
